Baked Caramel French Toast
Yield: 4 servings
Ingredients:
Topping
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 6 TBSP butter
- 1/3 cup whipping cream
- 1 TBSP light corn syrup
French Toast
- 3 eggs
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 tsp vanilla
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 8 (3/4" thick) Diagonal slices French bread
Directions:
- Grease 13" x 9" glass baking dish.
- Combine all toping ingredients in saucepan and cook until smooth (Do NOT Boil).
- Spread topping in prepared pan.
- Beat eggs.
- Add milk, vanilla, and salt.
- Dip bread into egg mixture.
- Place bread on top of topping..
- Cover and refrigerate overnight.
- Preheat oven to 400° F.
- Uncover French toast and bake 20 - 25 minutes.
- Let rest 3 minutes.
- Invert onto large serving platter.
